This "Essential" route requires good physical preparation for those wishing to take on a challenge by covering a distance close to a marathon, but in the heart of nature, with the added challenge of significant elevation gain. After climbing to the ridge, you'll pass through the Mt-Crosin wind farm before descending to Villeret. Next comes the climb to Chasseral through the heart of the Combe-Grède valley. Weather permitting, you'll see the entire Three Lakes region with the Alps as a backdrop during the descent back to the Place Centrale. A descent to Cortébert leads to the final challenge: a steep climb to reach the ridge, followed by a descent to the finish line.
