Our philosophy

Trail running is much more than a sport—it's a profound connection with nature. Our commitment goes beyond simply organizing a race: we want to ensure that every participant practices the most respectful way possible for the environment that sustains us. The trails we run through areas of exceptional biodiversity, where chamois, hares, deer, and foxes roam freely. This privilege imposes a collective responsibility upon us.
Trail running teaches us humility in the face of the mountains. Let us apply this same humility to the nature that welcomes us — and act to ensure that it remains wild and alive.

At the start and finish site:

Every action counts. We ask you to:

  • Please follow the instructions regarding waste sorting (PET, paper, glass)
  • Use resources sparingly (energy, water, etc.)
Waste management is ensured through reusable dishes and cups, rented and washed by a local foundation that offers people in professional reintegration a regular and stable activity.

On the route:

The natural environment we are traveling through is fragile. We are counting on everyone to:

  • Stay strictly on the marked trails
  • Do not throw anything on the ground
  • Respect the wildlife and plants along the entire route

Our commitment to the forest: partnership with Treesition

Because our playing field has no borders, we are going even further this year. In 2026, UTJB is partnering with Treesition (a certified B Corp™ company) to support sustainable agroforestry on a global scale.

Run for the summits, plant for the future!

When you register, you can choose to add CHF 5 to co-finance the planting of a tree. UTJB and Treesition take care of the rest — each tree helps to capture CO₂, regenerate soils and support sustainable agriculture.

With our goal of 1,000 runners, we can plant a veritable forest together.
